Workshops

Our Workshop Day takes place after the regular conference days, on Friday, May 8th, from 8am to 12pm. This year’s workshops include:

  • Measurable, or Meaningful? Workshopping Metrics in the New Library Landscape – As libraries respond to evolving research behaviors, expectations around how engagement is defined and measured are also shifting. This interactive workshop brings librarians together with the EBSCO Product Management team for an open, roundtable-style discussion on what “meaningful engagement” should look like in academic discovery and research tools. Participants will examine common usage metrics, brainstorm ways to better reflect meaningful library engagement and explore how users are interacting with current and emerging AI-driven features. Alongside these discussions, attendees will preview upcoming enhancements to EBSCO’s research platforms and gain practical exposure to analytics and visualization tools such as Amplitude and Tableau. Participants will build skills they can apply in their own institutions while also sharing real-world challenges and priorities that help directly shape future approaches to measuring impact.

  • FOLIO Integrations in Practice – Integrating FOLIO with discovery, acquisitions, authentication, and enterprise systems can deliver real value, but it also introduces technical and organizational complexity. This interactive workshop dives deep into real implementation experience to examine how FOLIO works with tools such as EDS, GOBI, SIP2, SSO, remote storage, and financial systems. Participants will discuss common integration challenges, where library expectations and IT realities often diverge, and practical approaches for bridging those gaps. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of what successful integrations look like and how to plan, communicate, and troubleshoot more effectively across systems and teams.
  • Check This Out: A Hands-On EBSCO Books Workshop – This interactive workshop focuses on helping librarians get more value from their EBSCO Books and GOBI workflows. Participants will review their current acquisitions setup with guidance from the GOBI team and peers, with an emphasis on configuration choices that support both collection goals and user needs. The session will also highlight features and resources that improve access for users with accessibility needs. To wrap up, attendees will work directly in Mosaic to explore and test new functionality, gaining practical experience they can apply at their own institutions.
